- Create a login using the online non-immigrant visa application form DS-160 and save the application ID for future reference. Please also save the security question and answer the question in a safe place
- Complete the online Visa Application Form (DS 160) for each applicant /family member
- Date Of Birth, Marital Status, Place of Birth for all family members
- Social Media account details of all applicants
- Scan copy of all old Passports and current Passports (with validity > 6 months)
- Two Coloured Passport Size Photographs without glasses on a white background with neutral facial expressions taken in the past 6 months
- Details of previous US Travel or US visa applications including any rejections
- Financial Proof including a bank balance of USD 5000 per applicant
- The last 3 months of bank statements show an adequate balance in the SB account. The statement must show the correct name and address of the applicant
- Net Worth Statement if possible (by CA covering financial assets (FD/Shares/MFs/ Bonds and Non-Financial Assets incl. Property/Jewellery/Car etc)
- Last 3 years ITR (for self-employed) or last 3 months salary slip (for salaried)
- Credit Card Statement (not mandatory)
- Proof of Accommodation in the USA including hotel booking confirmation/invitation letter from a friend or family member, if staying with them, and their address
- International Travel History for the last 5 years
- Permanent and Mailing Address and contact details for all family members
- Details – Name, Address, Contact number, email ID, and relationship for all close relatives /family members residing in the USA
- Application letter stating the purpose of travel and travel itinerary to visa officer
- In case you are a
- government employee, then you need an NOC from the department
- self-employed – then submit business registration documents (GST certificate/Certificate of Incorporation or Partnership Deed)
- salaried – need a confirmation letter from the employer period of employment
- student – college/school certificate confirming enrollment /leave approval
- minor – date of birth certificate, letter signed by both parents confirming details of anyone accompanying the minor, parents’ passport copy
- Pay Tourist Visa Application Fees after submitting D 160
- Provide your biometrics (fingerprints and facial photograph)
- All applicants have to appear for an interview with the Visa Office at the US Consulate /Embassy except those who are below 14 years or above 80 years of age
- Purchase Overseas Mediclaim /Travel Insurance before you board a flight to the USA
- Carry Confirmation Page printout and appointment schedule details for interview at VFS as well as at the embassy/consulate
